Welfare means "doing well in respect to good fortune, happiness, or well-being", as in "looking out for your own welfare." But, today, it mainly refers to money, clothing, food, medical care/medicines, housing, etc. for those in need or who cannot afford to buy it on their own (like, if they have no job, or their wages are not very high compared to someone else's), and these items are given out to them by an organization or agency (such as Human Services) .

Welfare is happiness and health. Sometimes that means good things happening to make us feel good. Other times it means being given help, in the form of money, by the Government.

The word "welfare" have three meanings. I will lost down all the three meanings.
1.someone's welfare is their health and happiness
2.help that is provided for people who have personal or social problems
3.money paid by the government in the US to people who are very poor or unemployed
