I'm in my 30's and have a best friend the same age for a few years. Now the problem is she keeps wanting me to sleep over her place. I've done it 3 times. It's not something I enjoy doing. I prefer to sleep in my bed. Anyway, when I do I sleep on the couch, I have a bads night sleep and I feel my day is wasted. Oh and she also want's me to sleep in the same bed with her. That I won't do. She won't take no for an answer. She begs and she just doesn't see my view. If she keeps this up she'll drive me away. Also, she thinks I'm embarassed of her as I haven't introduced her to my mum. What's up with that? She has met some of my friends. What do you think of this? I feel like she's wanting control over me as she has been in a couple of abusive relationaship. Thankyou

she sounds really controlling and like she has a crush on you or something. it's not normal for people over like twenty to have sleep overs ALL the time. "crashing" at someones house is different then planning

I think your best friend wants to take thing to the next level. Sounds to me that she thinks you are a couple or by sleeping with her it's making her feel that you care a lot more then what you are saying. The best answer is to tell her that you have absolutely no desire to sleep over or to sleep with her, that she is just a friend nothing more and should she keep up with her controlling ways then it could destroy your friendship. If this doesn't work then the only thing to do is to sever all ties with her.

This seems a little odd. I wish I had advice from you, but all I can say that I would do is talk to her. Explain to her that you don't want to spend the night. Tell her it has nothing do with her but that you like being at home in your own bed. You are not 13 anymore. REally not sure what to tell you about the MOm thing. That is strange. Why does she want to meet your mom so bad and after being friends for years why hasn't see meet you mom. All my close friends now my mom
