I had an interview with one today. It was short... he told me he liked my style and that i could do commercials and film... He said he would call me sometime next week... Think he'll call back? The interview went well... He asked me a few questions and told me he would show my photo to a few people and see what they had to say.

But what should i look for in him? I know the "don't pay for anything" rule, so spare me.

The agency is in a huge building in Hollywood so I'm pretty sure it's legitimate. But like i said i know nothing about agents...

Do talent agents usually recruit right away? or does everyone get the "i'll give you a call in a week"

Short, sweet, and to the point. -That's how Hollywood is!

Now, if he says he likes you, he's probably telling the truth, he thinks you can make him money, why lie? This is a brutal, scathing industry, I'm pretty sure, if the agent was uninterested, he'd say.

Now, as for what to look for:
-See if he has had any past bookings
-Who some of his other clients are
-How reputable is the agency he is with
-How long has he been working there
-How gutsy he is
-Make sure he is SAG registered
-Has a good deal of good contacts
-And the ever famous "don't pay for anything" (sorry, couldn't help it).

Also, you can do a quick background check for free online if you are feeling doubtful.

Also, just remember, appearances can be decieving, just because the building is huge, doesn't mean anything (it would really help your situation if you named the agency).

Now, as for the whole recruiting thing, it matters how interested the agency is, if they see anything coming up for you, and if you can make them money. By the sound of it, this agency sought you out, if that's the case, then if they say "I'll call in a week" they are probably right. Most people don't even get interviews, they just mail their stuff in, and never hear anything, so the fact that you did, is something.

So, I'd say, not everyone gets the whole "i'll give you a call in a week."

Good Luck, sounds like you have a bright career ahead of you!

unusual request. in case you choose an agent, you moreover would must be in touch with some human beings (the manufacturers of the prepare you're in, the different actors, whoever recommended you concerning to the auditions) who can refer you, and that they are in danger of comprehend greater approximately it than every person here (till you success out and detect a Toronto actor on line contained in here couple of days). in view which you do no longer look to comprehend, i choose to warn you to stay away from rip-offs. do no longer pay an agent something up front--nicely, possibly a tiny preliminary cost could be ok, yet no hundreds of greenbacks costs. do no longer sign with any agent who will require you to get carry of professional amenities, like photographs, from any specific provider. do no longer sign if the agent delivers you something yet representation. The agent ought to in basic terms make a take income of a proportion or flat cost for jobs which you artwork.

I'm pretty sure he'll call you, and it sounds legit. Things to look for in an agent are if they will really bring out the best in you, if they'll "sell" you well, and mostly, if they know what they're doing. Dig up whatever you can on his other clients and see how they are doing- it'll give you an indication towards how he'll treat or what he can do for you.

if you get that call plz let me know and I sure do wish you the best of luck; my son could really use a spot in acting as he does exceedingly well in i and needs the money more than most people, and so much more thatn you could imagine. He is a very good person too and if you got him in and he made some good money he would definitely share the wealth with you even if you had your own and wanted more, that is the way he is.

You always, whether it's an audition or an interview, want to look like the best possible version of yourself. Don't go out of your way to wear things you normally don't wear. By that I mean, you should look professional, nice pants & shirt, but if you never spike your hair, or if you never wear a certain style, don't go out of your way to do it for them. They want to see you, not what you think they want.
