Sure, that shouldn't be a problem at all. Just use a heater to prevent the temperature from going below 70-72 which is the lower end of the sharks comfort zone. I would only keep one rainbow shark per tank though, they will fight over territory otherwise.

What kind of goldfish? What size tank? How many fish of what type are you talking? 1 comet with 3 rainbows in a 55 gallon? 1 rainbow with 3 orandas in a 55 gallon? 1 oranda, 1 rainbow, and an assortment of tropicals in a 75 gallon?
I would never put a rainbow shark with bubble eye goldfish. Also, enough room for all fish - the rainbow gets to be about 5 inches and most fancy goldfish around 8 inches while the comets and common goldfish can easily reach a couple of feet if not cramped. As for temperature, 70 is about the lowest for the rainbow, but most of the fancy goldfish prefer a temp in the mid 70s and can easily handle warmer.
Can they live together? Under the right circumstances, yes.

Sharks are purely CATFISH that look like sharks. they're interior the comparable catagory as an the different way up catfish(of course, they're diverse species). There must be no situation with having all of them in a tank. although, I even have had gouramis, and that they poop non-quit, so which you would be wanting little strings of poo in all places. Kinda gross. Sharks must be in pairs or small communities as a results of fact they're hyper little fish. I even have 3 rainbows that chase eachother around the driftwood in my tank. in the event that they did no longer have eachother to chase, they could be terrorizing their tank-friends. Tetras are iffy. The small ones like neons and that, they're ok and depart lots on my own. some tetras nip at fins, so be careful. Catfish are all diverse, yet maximum of them are non violent. There must be no situation. listed under are the inhabitants of my 55gal tank: 5 silver money, 6 neon tetras, 3 infant mollies, 3 rainbow sharks, a million the different way up cat fish, a million 'appropriate' gold fish, and a ton of ghost shrimp. additionally, somewhat one turtle who truly does not eat the fish. ^.^ Sounds unusual yet its labored for over a 300 and sixty 5 days and a a million/2 now.

No. Rainbow sharks are fairly agressive and territorial. They also need warmer water then goldfish.
Goldfish are coldwater fish. Goldfish are members of the carp family and produce a lot of waste releasing a lot of chemicals in the water. For this reason tropical fish shouldn't be housed with goldfish.
Goldfish also grow fast and get fairly large. A pair of goldfish requires a 55 gallon tank. Also, I've seen goldfish eat smaller fish because as most fish are...they are opportunistic feeders.
Goldfish need less protien and more carbohydrates then tropicals as well. Goldfish can't process excesses of protien and this causes sudden death at times.

The answer is no. For the simple reason that goldfish are cold water fish and rainbow sharks are tropical fish. Why not try some platys instead of goldfish?
Additional Information:
Seems like people are disagreeing with me. I own a rainbow shark, but what do I know about them? I guess you could do it if you want to stick cold water goldfish in warm water because the rainbow shark aint going to like being in cold water.

Be careful if you do. The tank size does matter, since the goldfish alone will need a 10 gallons to itself. It may be a problem when it come to feeding also, since one's tropical, one's a goldfish. also depending on how big each are and how many. I'd keep it to a minimum with both. Goldfish poo a lot. Well good luck, hope it all works out.

Can you put them together? Of course. Will your fish be happy? Of course not. Most likely your tank is not big enough for either fish, but you should stick to cold water or tropical and not mix them. Dietary reasons alone should be enough to deter you.
