I have a ten gallon tank with two platys (one male, one female), a balloon belly molly, and a sucker-fish... my platys had two babies so they are kept in a fry container inside the big tank. how long do i keep them in there until they are safe to swim with the 'big' fish?

Basically you need to keep them separated until they are too large to fit in the other fishes mouths.

You can use a tank divider; I would split it 70/30 or have some castles and all..but since you have chosen the differnt container route you can wait until they are at least half the size..really some fake plants and a few castles or something would be most effective as they will come out when they are ready..the biggest threat would be the molly so I'de compare the size of the fry to the molly.

I agree with magic man. Generally with livebearers, once the babies are past the 1/2" mark, they are safe with the big boys. You will have more fish than you know what to do with soon.
