The time in the bag will not hurt them at all, nor cause any illnesses.

Don't make a habit of it but if they are still doing OK now, treat them as you would as if you hadn't had them in the car that long.

In the future:
-Remember to first check the bag at the store to make sure there is plenty of air in the bag and it has been closed properly.
-Try to carry it upright without bouncing it too much.
-If you can put the bag in something to reduce light it helps reduce stress on the fish.
-Try to prevent major temperature fluctuations. In the summer time, keep the bag away from the air conditioner in the car. In the winter time, try to insulate the bag instead of just exposing it to the bitter cold.

If you can reduce the shock of transport, it helps significantly when taking them home. If something happens and you get delayed, just reduce as much stress as you can. If for some reason you need to open the bag as soon as possible, you can attach it to the tank with clothes pins to float it until the water is the same inside the bag and the tank.

not at all, as long as you don't leave the bag in the car and you go shopping for 3 hours when it's 100F outside. also make sure the bag doesn't leak.

It wont hurt them unless if it gets over or under 72 to 80degrees Fahrenheit which will cause alot of stress to them.
