A light year is not a measure of time. It is a measure of large distances. It is how far light (at 186000 miles per second) could travel in one year.

None. A light year is a measure of distance (the distance light travels in one year) and seconds are a measure of time.
As is fairly well-known light travels at 186,000 miles a second. There are therefore 186,000 miles in 1 light-second and there are 5.879×10^12 miles in 1 light year. That is nearly 6 trillion miles.
or 10.346×10^15 yards
or 31.039×10^15 feet
or 372.47×10^15 inches
So there aren't any seconds in a light year but there are 372 quadrillion inches!

To add to the others...
Not only is it how far light travels in a year, but how far light travels in a vacuum in a year...slightly more than 186,283 miles. The medium through which light travels causes it's speed to be different to an external observer. Light travels the fastest in a vacuum.

Same number of LIGHT-seconds in a light-year as there are SECONDS in a year.
So, 60*60*24*356.25 @=30,780,000

light year is a distance not a time measurement.
it is the distance light travels in one year.
so multiply the velocity of light 3x10^8 or so m/s
by the number of seconds in a year.
365 days x 24 hours x 60 min/hour x 60 sec/min

Seconds measure time. Light years measure distance. You may as well ask how many hectares there are in a liter.

One light hour = 3600 light seconds
One light day = 86400 light seconds
one light year = 31,536,000
And for good measure....one light second = 18,622,397 miles!

1.One light year is defined as the distance traveled by light in a duration of one yearso if I were to answer you in tems of duration then one light year is given by 365*24*60*60+15= 31536015seconds (Note that I have added 15seconds so as to tell you he average seconds considering the leapyear.......)
2.But in terms of distance it will be 3*31536015*10to the power8 Meters
Thanks
