My ipod went through the washing machine (no comments please) a few weeks ago, and I left it to dry. Now, when I try to turn it on, the screen lights up for a few seconds then turns off. Nothing is on the screen other than the backlight, and when I plug it into Itunes it isn't recognized by Itunes or the computer. Also, nothing happens when I try to charge it through the computer or the wall charger. It is a fith generation Ipod video. Thank you in advance for trying to help me with my problem.

Resetting it doesn't work. :( The light doesn't stay on long enough for me to reset it.

U washed it. Why are you wondering about it's inability to turn on, light up, or do anything now. It's an electronic device. Typically, if electronic devices are submerged in water they break or malfunction or simply cease to perform. Unless of course they are specifically designed to be "waterproof." Is your iPod waterproof? If so, I'm sure Apple would be delighted to send a replacement free of charge.

theres probably water that got IN your ipod, so you'll be lucky if it even works again. have you tried resetting it? that might work. or maybe putting it into the dryer would help. I'd suggest that only AFTER you have tried everything else.

perhaps it'll take a month to dry completely. I wouldn't have given it any power just yet. Chances are it'll never work again.
