I think this game could be better than people are anticipating. But I think the raiders will win by 3 . Everybody thinks that since these two teams finished last and second to last that this game is going to suck but I think it will be better than expected. I believe these two teams will be definite improvements from last season just watch and see. The lions and raiders offenses will both be better and the raiders have a pretty good defense and that I believe will be the difference maker.

Well since there are no decent, thought out answers, here's mine:

First note: no team did anything to "improve" their overall team as these brainless people are pointing out. The Raiders have done nothing to improve their offensive line and because they can't wait, Jamarcus Russell will start Day 1 because you dont waste the number 1 overall pick and have him on the bench. Although they did pick up a change of pace back in Dominic Rhodes to spell LaMont Jordan every now and then, you can't be great unless you have a great line in front of you, and they don't. As for the Lions, now that Dre Bly is gone, aside from rookie sensation Ernie Sims last year, who do they have on defense? Shaun Rogers keeps getting injured and they have zero pass rushers and no defensive back help. So really how did these teams "improve"? Having only one good aspect of your team isn't improving.

Anyway, as for the game, it will be a close game, but it will end in a Lions win for these reasons:

Raiders Defense VS Lions Offense: For those people who think the Raiders dont have a good run defense or they cant cover the Lions receivers, you dont have the 3rd best defense and #1 pass defense in the league for nothing. With Sapp clogging up the middle and Burgess applying pressure off the side, it'll create a lot of running room for the young, but great linebackers in Kirk Morrison and Thomas Howard to make plays against the Lions running game. They have a very good corner tandem in Asoughma, Washington, and great backups in Tyrone Poole and Stanford Routt which will allow them to minimize the impact of Williams and Johnson. Even though Oakland has a great defense, the Lions offense is still loaded and can at least give them 13-17 points.

Lions Defense VS Raiders Offense: Once again we will see the QB for Oakland running for his life trying to avoid sacks because of that awful O-line (which is why i believe the'll start Russell because of his huge size and decent mobility). Even though Detriot has zero defense, a bad defense beats an atrocious offense that can barely score. With Moss gone, Porter is the only real threat at WR, and with Detriot stacking the box to stop the running game and doubling Porter, it'll be tough for Russell in his first year in his first game to beat the blitzes and different looks he'll be getting with the running game struggling.

Final Score: DET: 17 OAK: 10

Kitna: 15/29 245 yards 1 TD 2 INTS
Bell: 22 rushes, 74 yards 1 TD

Russell: 11/23 154 yards 0 TDs 1 INT
Jordan: 28 rushes, 82 yards 1 TD

Raiders fair Def. no Off. Lions Good Off. Very Little Def. Lions will win this game at home thus giving the raiders the 1st. pick again next year.

As much as it hurts my soul to say it but the Raiders will win. Detroit cant run and throwing the ball vs the Raiders D is asking for trouble. As for where the game is played i really dont think that matters much.

The Lions because the Raiders won't have a chance trying to cover those recievers

You guys are all brilliant. (sarcasm) To those who say the Raiders defense is fair, or that they can't stop the run. That defense is on of the best, ranked third overall. Don't forget their offense was the worst in the league which meant the defense was on the field a lot more than other teams. More time spent on the field typically means more yards and points. Imagine how great that defense could be with a good offense.

my guess is that even though the raiders have russell, the team doesn't really look good overall. the lions are a team that doesn't have a good offense or defense but they're a better overall as a team! monthlyi would say the lions

periods i have are weirdd about who will win!

Go Pack!
