A large cage with coated wire or plastic mesh (no metal wire). Most Iggy owners end up building their own because of the huge size needed for a full grown Ig (6foot highx4 foot wide). A tank of at least 40 gallons is OK for a young baby for a few months. Any smaller than that and you can't regulate temperatures. You'll need a heat lamp, digital thermomete, basking bulb, litterbox or similar for a pool to soak in (it has to be big enough for the Ig to get his whole body in). A great website is Melissa Kaplans Green Iguana page at www.anapsid.org. You'll learn everything you know from that. She also wrote Iguanas for Dummies, a great book! They are not easy to keep, but are great animals.

If you are getting an Iguana I would suggest you buy Iguanas for dummies by melissa kaplan and the green iguana the ultimate owners manual by james w hatfield. Get these books before you buy your iguana, they really help you set up your living space for your iguana.
Good luck

Check out www.greenigsociety.org for care. But as far as a list you need a:

Cage (at least 6'Hx5'Lx4'W for adults, you can do with a 55 gallon for a hatchling, but it won't last long, because they grow quick)
Heat: Zoomed Infrared Heater 100watt ($14.99 at petco, it is a red bulb, this you leave on 24/7 as a constant heat source, it is easier then getting both daytime and nighttime bulbs)
Dome fixture(for the heat lamp)(porclain base fixture 10' diameter $10.99 at petco)
UV Lighting: Zoomed Reptisun 10.0 ($45.99 at petco, then you need the fixture, about $15.00 at home depot) THIS LIGHT IS 100% NECESSARY! THE IGUANA MUST HAVE FULL SPECTRUM UVA AND UVB LIGHTING, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN WAIT ON!!!
Veggies (www.greenigsociety.org/foodchart check that out for a full list of what iggies can eat)
Calcium supplement (Reptivite $5.99 at petco)
Water dish: (anything deep enough for him/her to drink out of)
food dish:whatever
Substrate:(the stuff at the bottom, do not use any loose substrates(no bark, sand, dirt, etc.) use Shelf liner, linoleum or indoor/outdoor carpet, this prevents any chunks of bark or anything geting in the iggies vent and causing impaction, it is also cheaper and easier because it is washable and reusable.)
branches and leaves: (they need something to climb up to get closer to the heat source and 'bask', and the leaves will help the hatchling 'hide' because they will be very scared at first) wal-mart or Micheals have good deals on 'decoration'
A book on iguanas: I suggest "Green Iguana: the ulitmate owners manual" by James T. Hatfield, the book is about $22, but well worth it. over 600 pages if iggy goodness!)

Mostly all this stuff is cheaper if purchased online, if you get all of it online, even with shipping and handling, it will be cheaper, www.bigappleherp.com has $19.99 uv lights! instead of the $45.99 that pet stores charge. So, if you get everything from them, you will save money. We get most our supplies from Big Apple Herpetology. They are a good site.
