Draw a line from home to first on the little diamond, and write in K (strikeout) and E2 (meaning "error by catcher"). . . .

I'll draw a little line from the bottom of the box to the right side, indicating that the batter reached 1st base. Then under that line, instead of putting a (-) or (1b) for a single, i'll just put a (K). So when i look at my scorecard again i'll know that he reached 1st on a dropped 3rd strike.

According to the website below, you draw a line from home plate to 1st base with the letters "PB along the 1st base line.

The site also give several other example how to use a scorecard. Very informative.

it goes down as a strikeout for both the pitcher and batter (not a hit or walk).

and the player advances to first on either a Wild pitch or passed ball.

also, many people use their own notation for it... I once had a coach who would put DTS for dropped third strike

Simple answer -- anyway you'd like. It's your scorebook.

It's a strikeout, so most people put down a K. If a passed ball or wild pitch is involved, you can write WP or PB next to it. If not, any symbol will do.

It depends. Did he advance on a wild pitch, a passed ball, on a throwing error by the catcher, or a fielding error by the first baseman?

And for the millionth time, a passed ball is NOT an error on the catcher.

Strikeout. If the runner eventually scored it would be unearned.
