You should major in advertising. If you aren't planning on completing a 4 year degree though I would highly recommend it, there may also be Administrative Courses or an associate's degree that can help you. Honestly, a degree of any sort can get you working Administratively in an office! My advice is that you keep an open mind. Don't turn down any jobs just because they aren't 100% what you've always dreamed of. You never know when you'll end up at a company that you like and you might even make a career change and decide to follow a different path, get a different education, etc. My best advice to anyone going to college or about to go, is to sit down on the internet and search job sites thoroughly in different fields and imagine yourself doing so after graduating. It is likely this could be one of the first steps you'll take after earning your degree! If you see a job that interests you, they will generally tell you what degree is required, and you can be thinking about what degree you will need to get the kind of work and salary you desire. Good luck.

Ha, there is no such thing as an actual "advertising major"....
Anyway, you should take the following majors for working in an ad agency:
*Marketing - usually under the school of Business
OR
*Public Relations - usually under the school of Communications
Both of these will give you a good background, not only in business, but also in communications in regards to pushing a company or product, which is exactly what an ad agency does.

For advertising, be an advertising major.
Otherwise there are office positions in pretty much any major. Go for business, finance, accounting, for the main ones though. Those guarantee an office job.

This depends on what you want to do in the office. Most advertising agencies hire majors in marketing, advertising, graphic design, and perhaps some other things, depending upon their particular focus.

Marketing.
If you're looking for just a job, a Liberal Arts degree will do. While you're in college you can apply for internships with advertising companies.
