the problem is i put air shocks on to try to raise the rear end so i can put wider tires on but the air shocks did not raise it up that far. I was looking for help to see if i adjust the leaf springs if that would give me more height

Do you move the shackles up or down to raise the height

Had many cars from the 70's as I grew up in them, get a set of shackles for the springs will give you about 3 inches of rise combined with the air shocks. Easy to put on and no very expensive. Nice to see someone doing it old style instead of slamming down

Air shocks are a BAD idea.I did that ,hit a pothole which blew the lines and ruined 2 60 series tires.Your best bet is a body lift kit or you can add a leaf to to your rear springs.
adding a leaf will make the ride rougher.

yeah that was cool back in the 70s. you could try lifting blocks or shackles. but i have heard bad things about these. that it can cause stress on the components due to the extra leverage made by the blocks or shackles. The proper thing to do would be to atleast mini tub your car or put leaf springs with some extra lift.

The best and safest thing to do is o take it to a spring-shop and have the springs reworked. It is the only way to do it right.
