I spent a year in Barcelona and there are many beautiful things about it. Food, people, weather, beaches, history, architecture, parks.
The downsides were:
1. There's a lot of loud smoky traffic and bicycles are rare.
2. They party so late! If you go to a disco at 2 a.m., you'll be about an hour early and may have the place to yourself.
They go to bars late, too, like about 12.30 or 1.30
If you go at 11, you may be alone.
There are a million bars, and it's hard to figure it all out. When you meet some native friends, they'll take you to places you never knew existed.
3. It's not as friendly as Madrid, Sevilla, Lisbon, or even Paris in my opinion.
4. It's BIG and spread out. But it has a good transportation system. You need it. It's not 100% walkable like Amsterdam.
5. It's not super cheap any more, but there are all kinds of neighborhoods and different qualities of restaurants.

Barcelona has become one of the most desirable addresses to live in Europe.

There are many advantages in choosing to live in a dynamic and lively city like Barcelona; the infrastructure is perfectly developed with state of the art communication systems in place and high speed internet access available in the main commercial districts. The huge expatriate community makes it one of the easiest cities in Europe for a foreigner to settle into.

Barcelona has six universities that accept thousands of students from abroad every year. Depending on the University and the subjects, classes are held in Catalan or Spanish. Only at the business school will you find some classes taught in English.

Life in Barcelona is still affordable, even though it is slowly becoming more expensive.
Property prices in Barcelona tend to be among the highest in Spain, however when compared more fairly with other leading cosmopolitan European cities such as Paris or London property prices do fall into the right perspective.

If a cosmopolitan, European lifestyle with sunshine and all of the advantages of modern commerce appeal, Barcelona may well be the city that you’ve been searching for.

Goodluck.

Hi,

Barcelona is the really best for living.
I have been there, I liked it so much,
You must visit Gaudi Gardens,

Something About Gardens,
The best and most famous example of Art Nouveau landscape-architecture has been designated a UNESO World Heritage Site. Count Eusebi Güell, a wealthy businessman, conceived the project as infrastructure for a garden suburb on what Gaudi described as 'the treeless mountain'. The only parts to be completed, before worked stopped in 1914 and it became a public park in 1922, were a grand entrance, two houses, 3km of paths, a marvellous terrace and the hippostyle hall, planned as an underground market. Güell's friend, Antonio Gaudi, was the designer.

Both men intended that the project would express the spirit of Catalonia as a potentially independent nation. The park is very popular and has an obscure symbolic content. Shapes and colours were inspired by natural forms which Gaudi, a devout catholic, saw as instances of divine craftsmanship.

The park is set into the hills overlooking Barcelona.
