I watch the movies I like most over and over, and I still say to myself the same things, like "please don't open that door", or "there's someone behind you", stuff like that. Or the funny ones that make me laugh over and over again. I enjoy them.

Cinema is an Art... So good movies are like timeless pieces of Art... And you'll start enevitably dealing with it accordingly... So you will most probably watch it again.
Enjoying the Visual and audio art that will envoke the same pleasurable feelings every time you watch them... like having to go have alook at the Monalisa every time I visit the Louvre... Its not immaginable saying I've seen it before whu should I see it again.
I don't rule out other reasons put by other contributors... since we do sometimes watch less artisitic movies more than one time... and maybe we can explain that by personal memories that are attached to this particular movie... that is why our generation loves to watch old black and white movies... it reminds us of our childhood.
A third reason is purely entertainment... some movies have this entertaining effect... like commedies... we just watch them over and over again just to have a good laugh.
At the end its only Human... wether its Art, Nostalgia, or entertainment... we tend to repeat the experiences that are enjoyable to us.

It's really my problem with everybody. My friends see the same film 5 times in the cinema & when it's released on CDs or DVDs they buy it & watch it on the computer all over the day & when it's shown on the TV they stay infront of it as if it's the first time to see it.They're suspended & wanna know what's going to happen.I really get bored of that.I can't see a film more than a couple of time, unless it's my favourite.

tell me about it! My husband does that all the time with so many movies that he thinks are awesome! He frustrates me because sometimes I wanna watch something else that I haven't seen before, but he changes the channel to see a movie that he had seen like 30 times before! I do watch some movies more than once, but only my favorites.

It's odd - I never heard the term "9/11-Gate," and yet, there should have been. If 9/11 had happened on Obama's watch, I doubt there would have been a reactionary bombing campaign of the wrong country (Iraq) ; there would have been a complete focus on impeaching the president instead.

We do it because it's familiar, we like it, you might see something that you missed the first time, it's comfortable, it's fun, etc. I do it because if I need to stop it, I don't feel like I missed anything. I can get a quick laugh. It reduces stress.
