You have to be 16 to 27 to enter. Taylor Hicks was the oldest American Idol ever to win when he was 27. Last season though, they did let a guy who was like 55 come and sing "You Belong To Me" in dedication to his wife who died from some sort of cancer so he could raise more money. He didnt go through, but they let him sing so America could remember about cancer patients.
