Actor does not equal celebrity. Just because you want to act doesn't automatically mean you get fame if you succeed.
Indeed, what if you do "become famous," as you put it? You can always drop out of the industry. But, to be honest, you probably won't ever have to worry about that.

Not all actresses are big time celebrities. Many actresses on Broadway don't get recongized or put in tabloids, but they are still paid. Everyone enjoys the public eye, but a good balance is Broadway. You get loved and worshipped when from the time you get onto the stage, till the time you finish signing autographs outside the stage door. and anyone can help fight for things, and get people to fight with them. It's great that, given the oportunity, you would fight for such a noble cause. But if you do make it as an actress in movies, you can always have a secret hiding spot, whether it's your private jet, a small beach house, or even your parent's basement.
GOOD LUCK!

If being a celebrity is a big deal, then stay away from Hollywood, and come join the New Yorkers! People mind their own business and get privacy here!
If Hollywood is for you, just remember, if you stay a professional, serious actress, you'll be fine! Don't do things that will get you in the public eye, and you'll live in privacy.
Be known for talent, not your lifestyle, be respected, not famous.
Be an actor, not a celebrity.
And you'll be fine, just keep a level head, and remember, why you're here, you love to act!
Good Luck!

I've thought about that two. i take acting classes and would love to be a film actress. I think that if you are truely passionate about acting, you shouldn't let the celebrity thing hold you back.
some actors and actresses lose themselves when they make it big in Hollywood. i think the key is to be yourself and not let your fame get ot your head becuase that tends to happen making people extremely cocky. but there are tons of successful actors and actresses that have made it big in hollywood and are still the same people.
as long as you have a true passion for acting, you should be fine.

Go for your dream of being an actress, but don't think about Hollywood too much. Keep in mind if you're an actress you don't necessarily work in Hollywood. A lot work with theatre or independent film makers.

You know how many actors there are!!! I don't think you should worry about getting famous because there is a very small chance that you will become famous. Sorry, but that's the truth.

Go for it.
You can be celebrite' , you can be celebrity, some chicks know that what they do is a craft and an art, others flaunt and frollip around for some self ego misconfiguration.
Kate Hepburn had it together.
Class acts never dull or fade.

Not every actor becomes will be a celebrity!
Most actors are actors, not celebrities and live lives as non-celebrities. They're just "actors."
In NYC many actors walk the streets in Manhattan and are not approaced for autographs by the public, because most people do not recognize them.

Hi,
First of all, let me send you to a page where you can download a free 28-page ebooklet that I created for young folks just like you. You'll find it here at http://www.actingcareerstartup.com . Just sign in and you can download it for free. The ebooklet is called: What It Takes To Become An Actor. I think it will help to give you some insight.
Secondly, let me share with you an article I wrote called:
"So You Say You Want To Become Famous eh?
It does happen that people get 'discovered'. How often does it happen? To answer that question. Here's another one. What are the chances of winning the lottery?
Getting discovered is like hitting the luck of the draw, so to speak.
On the other hand there is a saying I really like, which says:
"The more prepared I am, the more luck I seem to have."
That said, if you want to really be discovered, you have to position yourself to be discovered. You have to work hard to build a base. You have probably heard that it is a difficult profession to pursue and there is truth to that. If you have a method and a strong character, you can be successful. I have been in contact with young and older aspiring and new actors over the past few years and I was inspired to write a book for them.
Many successful people in different walks of life as well as successful actors have the following things in common or they do/have done them very well. It is my advice to you as well.
4 Key Areas
1. YOU: Get to know yourself better, your strengths, weaknesses, the opportunities you have, the resources you have at your disposal (and not just financial, but intellectual, skills, capabilities, talents, etc.) Figure out what you want out of your life first (specifically). Figure out how acting fits into that. Then figure out what you want out of your acting career. (specifically) Doing these two things will help you save a lot of time, effort and maybe even money down the road.
2. YOUR ATTITUDE: Develop your creativity to invent ways for you to position yourself ahead of your competition and to find new ways to promote yourself. BIGGIE! Figure out what it is that motivates you and learn how to keep yourself motivated to get done the things you need to get done and to help you deal with the rejection that you will inevitably encounter in this business. Figure out how to develop a strong sense of perseverance if you don't already have it. There is much to do and you MUST be motivated or you will have difficulty.
3. YOUR PLAN: Put together a solid plan that will ensure that you will get to where you want to go in your actging carreer and have a real chance at achieving the success you want and stick to it. Learn how to plan effectively.
4. YOUR BUSINESS: Find out what the business skills you need to run your business of being an actor. You are an actor. You are a company. And you are a business. You are the CEO of that business. You are/will be a free lance professional. You have a product and that product is you. You have to know how to market it, how to sell it and how to create value for those who 'invest' in you.
There are short cuts, but very often, if you skip one of those steps, in the long run, unless you are lucky, it will slow you down and it just might mean that you won't reach your goal at all.
So what could your next steps be?
1. Try to really understand what it means to be a working actor and start working on the things I mentioned above. Here are a couple of links to get you started, but I would advise you to get a lot of different perspectives of what successful and non-successful actors do in their daily activities.
2. And in the meantime, start taking acting classes. Study acting technique. Study. Study. And develop your SKILL. Without it, you won't go very far.
3.Start boning up on the business skills you will need to be successful at promoting yourself as an actor when the time comes. I have seen many a wonderful actor, not get much work for this very reason. Not always the best actor gets the work!
Just wanted to give you some food for thought.
There's a lot more where that came from.
My last bit of advice to you is not to worry about the fame and how you will deal with it. You might find yourself worrying about something that might never happen. Make it a priority instead to get started and be the best actor you can. Cross the fame bridge when you come to it.
Good luck to you!!!
Tony
