It's not only Germans or Dutch that have yellow plates. British have white at the front and yellow at the rear. This is purely down to visibility in the dark. Headlamps have a better effect on yellow than they do on white.

I didnt think the germans did.
The Danes have both. The white ones are used on personal vehicles, whilst the yellow ones are used to signify commercial vehicles which qualify for a cheaper road tax.

Not only germans do it!,,Polish,Lithuanian and other European cars do. Ive also seen British Cars with white number plates,,but mostly its European not just German cars that have them --i know this doesnt answer your question why but hayyy i dont know evrything lol =)

Germans have black digits on white plates, with stickers for the annual tax set in the middle. front and back1.. Are you colour blind, racist, or both?
