TracFone Nationwide Prepaid Wireless, in my opinion, is the best cellphone plan because there is no plan. Instead, you purchase the minutes yourself using prepaid airtime cards that you can purchase online at the website below, or buy at any store that sells them, including Wal-Mart. There are no hidden fees whatsoever, activation is FREE, and the phones come with the same features that any other cellphone would have (i.e. text messaging, camera, speed dial, voice dial, etc.). Plus, TracFone has a VAST DIGITAL COVERAGE AREA SO THERE ARE FEW CASES IN WHICH YOU WILL HAVE NO SERVICE AT ALL. In addition to that, there are no contracts or obligations, so in the case that you don't like it you can simply let the airtime expire and your number will be removed from the database, and, if you change your mind you can reactivate it free of charge. Try it. It works for me.

Verizon definitely - I sell many differnt carriers nationwide so I am very familiar wit hthis question...but if you want prepaid CHEAP like 6 cents a minute get a Page Plus phone on Verizon Network, no daily fees or contracts. You can get a phone with 100 minutes on Verizon for $18 at this site:

Cingular has the largest coverage area, the most people, and they have nationwide calling. They are nationwide as well so you never pay roaming. And the rollover minutes kick a$$.

i personally think verizon but it will probably be based more on where you are going to be most. The other one that might be good is Sprint and maybe At&t.
