It makes the sound waves and I think at least a lot of animals and birds hear it, after we humans are not the only ones to hear.

Been here done this. If there is nothing to turn the vibrations made by the falling tree into sound then there is no sound. The ear, human or animal, or a tape recorder turns the vibrations into sound. Deaf people don't have that ability which is why they are deaf

Nothing ever makes a sound unless you hear it because you're the center of the Universe. Even if I hear it, it doesn't matter. No sounds are valid unless you're there to hear it. Now, get a life!

Obviously,yes.It does not mean make any song although nobody do not hear that.If you say so,every single song not heard by not a single soul will be considered as not song.The sound only does not occur in vacuum.

oh my gosh i HATE that question. of course it makes a sound, just because no one is around to hear it doesnt mean it defies the laws of gravity and goes in slow motion and waits for some one to come around and hear it.....it makes a big sound.....your just not around to hear it. and just because no one hears it doesnt mean it didnt make a sound.:)

no matter if you want to believe the theories behind whether or not there is sound, either way - there is definitely vibration. even deaf people can't hear sounds, but they can feel vibrations...
