What I have found to cause this problem is the disc was burned at too high a rate of speed. It is best to burn the DVD at the slowest rate possible. It does take longer but it turns out to be worth the the extra15 minutes or so.

I agree with Tony M. I had the same problem. I tried burning at 4X instead of 8X and it worked

burn speed could have been to high OR the disk brand was cheap. I only use RITEK disks under the name verbatum and never have a bad copy.
