Just wondering, because he got us into this war in Iraq that caused a rise in fuel prices. Or let's just say he was greedy and all of our gas money went directly into his checking account.Even so, The result: people began to buy smaller cars, we drive less and even buy hybrids to save money. A side effect of this MUST be a smaller carbon footprint by society as a whole. I wonder if there would be a way to measure the reduction of green house gasses that he has indirectly caused. sumpin to chew on..

Interesting views. It's funny to explore these things. I like the guy who brought up "unintentional consequenses" Good point. I just wanted to see what people would say. I've always thought we gave th eman too much "power" in the fact that we can blame him for EVERYTHING, that goes wrong. I wanted to see if we could "blame" him for somthing going right. Just planting seeds.
We all need to be better humans. But it should'nt mean giving up our freedom. We should be inclined to make the choices on our own.

No, global warming is a natural cycle.

Some people have started to move toward smaller and more fuel efficient cars due to higher gas prices, which is a step in the right direction. However, to save us from the worst effects of global warming we need a 50-90% reduction in worldwide greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, according to climate projections. A small percentage of people moving to more fuel efficient cars won't come anywhere near close to that.

Therefore Bush hasn't accidentally saved us from global warming, and he certainly hasn't saved us from it purposefully. He's acknowledged that humans are the primary cause of the current global warming since 2005, and yet he's done nothing to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. He undermined the G8's attempt to agree to a 50% reduction by 2050, and the Supreme Court had to tell Bush's EPA to start regulating greenhouse gas emissions or at least give a good reason why they weren't

So no, I'm not giving Bush any credit on this one.

I'm not entirely convinced by this.
Tests have shown that hybrid cars aren't any more efficient with fuel than the average small car. Apparently, the Volkswagen Polo is one of the most fuel efficient cars on the market at the minute.
Hybrids also have the side effect of having huge batteries, which I assume contain large amounts of acid which I imagine is made in a rather dirty polluting factory. it's also nice to know that if you crash you'll slowly melt to death too.
I've always said, no matter who you are or what you do, you are always going to be part of the cause somehow. Owning a car, regardless whether it's diesel, petrol or hybrid, you still produce vast quantities of carbon dioxide.
Before you ask, no, I'm not an environmentalist. I'm a car driver and happy to be one. I just like to think of myself as a realist. (most people say cynic)
You drive, you pollute. Big deal. People won't change.
Take a look at the world aid extravaganza last night. All these rock stars doing a gig to try to tell you to reduce your carbon footprint. How do they do it? By flying over in their private jets and then being chauffer driver from the airport to Wembly and then wasting loads of electricity. Can you imagine how much they wasted just by doing the soundchecks?
Looking at it this way it's hard to imagine that George W's war pushed up fuel prices enough to reduce pollution.

I do not believe anybody can save us from the effects of global warming (certainly not Bush) - it's way too late. Global warming is only a symptom of the underlying huge increase in the world's population - a population plague, if you like - which will correct itself somehow - wars, disease, etc.- at some time in the future.
The idea that somehow the world can pull together and reverse the effects of overpopulation, is a nice idea but so unrealistic. Utopia does not and will never exist.
Make the best of the time left....

The plans to invade iraq were being drawn up before bush was even president. google or yahoo PNAC. If you believe that bush is controlling ANYTHING.. call me..i got a bridge i wanna sell ya. If you think all the money paid into gasoline goes directly to bush, immediately do the following : take the computer power cord in your hand and pull it out of the wall. - Anyone who uses the term 'carbon footprint' should have their feet removed. Instead of complaining about carbon emissions why not complain about the criss-crossing 'contrails' lingering in the sky for HOURS. why not complain about the pesticides and genetically modified plant material you have to consume. if you support a carbon tax you should do your part to reduce emissions by shutting the hell up.

Nice try, but George W. Bush is no Eco-warrior, either directly or indirectly. He pulled the U.S. out of the Kyoto agreement and this has rocketed global emissions of greenhouse gases.

Bush is an oil man and he is joined at the hip with big business. By pulling out of the Kyoto agreement, he was siding with his corporate buddies and giving them carte blanche to pollute to their hearts content.

Bush's legacy will be one of environmental irresponsibility and shame.

As many have observed, it truly is the followers who expend each and every of the gasoline. the traditional race makes use of roughly 6000 gallons. Spectators will expend lots greater effective than that. evaluate this: Indy is shifting to all-ethanol. NASCAR is shifting to gasahol and could even bypass the way of ethanol. i will already wager what you think of of NASCAR followers. i are not getting them the two. yet then, i are not getting soccer followers. Or hip-hop, spinner-rim crowds the two. returned to point - what do you think of the effect that NASCAR could have on our surroundings in the event that they made determination fuels seem COOL to a crowd that traditionally does not care a lick approximately environmental subject concerns. stay Earth is going to create a great intake of means to aim to cajole those that don't go with convincing. Now, that's a waste. eating that means whilst convincing human beings to alter...

GW is not GWB... And humans cannot stop or reverse the global climatic shift. It is way too late, and is even accelerate by natural forces which add to the temperature increase. Scientist were believing that at the end of the century sea levels would have climbs a lot, but the reality is, that it will not wait before the end of the century, as the warming things is believed to occurs at 10times faster than previously believed!

GEORGE BUSH COULDN'T FIND HIS WAY OUT OF A WET PAPER BAG!
People were already buying smaller. cheaper cars, way before Bush came into office, so I can't say your theory about Bush having anything to do with less green house gases could fly!

I dont give George Bush credit for anything, he has offended me, and infuriated me so many times from so many different angles that I wouldn't be grateful towards him unless he brought peace to the world and found a cure for AIDS and Cancer!
