Awwww the great debate,
(directed to Stephen)
The Patriot act, what rights Americans loose do to it? Get over being upset because you use technology and maybe doing things that others might find immoral and even criminal. You do understand that technology is not a right, RIGHT? The Constitution gives you rights to live life free with limited intrusion from the government. Starting from the top you have the US government rules, then state, then county, then city/town, then community, then utility, then HOS's, and then your household rules. Seems like a lot of rules, But you are still free, Travel the world, see how others live, America is the greatest place to be. If you don't want to conform to so many rules then America has places that you can live that way but you will do without technology.

I have been part of information gathering for America in other countries and know first hand that intercepting information from any means possible to stop actions from occurring is priceless. Yes a lot of useless information is gathered and discarded, but all the critical information is kept. I have been checked out, with and without my knowledge. DO I CARE? NO! Why because I have nothing to hide....

Bush is only the target of today as was Clinton years ago. Wire tapping has been around as long as the telegraph and telephone.

Lastly the Internet is free right? Or is it? If you use it the government should be one of your least worries, Hackers from other countries, spamers, viruses, worms, ect. are there too and out number the governments ability to try to see what information you have to offer.........

Thanks for the Question Mindi You ask some good ones. Eating my fried Bologna right now :)

The public in time will see the effects of the patriot act. It's unfortunate that most of the public only know what the mainstream media has told them about the patriot act. It gives the government or primarily bush/cheney the power to completely remove our rights. If you have the time to read the patriot act in its entirety and have moderate intelligence you will be angered and the power they have enabled themselves with. It goes completely against the constitution in almost all amendments. But hey, kinda fun I guess,it's like communism without the health care. Enjoy.
