This is in relation to the squaring and cubing of harmonic ratios. in this case an octave or a ratio of 2/1 is being squared and cubed.

It seems right to me.

220 hz
440 hz is one octave higher (1:2)
880 hz is one octave higher than that (1:2^2 = 1:4)
1,760 hz is one octave higher yet (1:2^3 = 1:8)
