Excellent question! Or, how about for movies? For every R-rated movie, Hollywood has to produce a G-rated, family movie. Hey - this could work! For every over-sexed, crude TV show, a kid and family friendly show!!

Think the left would go for it? LOL I won't be holding my breath...and besides, didn't Airhead America fail? Doesn't that prove that the country isn't interested in Liberal talk radio?

It's unConstitutional. Only Liberals believe they are a protected class under the first amendment. Conservatives do not suffer from this delusion.

It's just free press. Free speech. It is supposedly what reigns.

ADDED: Liberals know they do not stand a chance at getting the FD in television. But before 1992, it existed. And in 1992, when the FD was removed, ta da! We got talk radio. They only consider the press free when they own all of it. Google Fairness Doctrine. Or "Hush Rush bill."

A ha! The so called liberals, who say they may disagree with what you have to say, proclaim that they will continue to fight for your right to say it, want to get rid of conservative talk radio? I can't believe it! They're mad because they've failed on air America. I can guarantee you, that this fairness doctrine won't go through. Any liberal who supports this legislative insanity, is a true traitor and violator to the Constitution. They're the communists who should be thrown out of office! Unpopular speech is protected by the 1st Amendment. GOD BLESS AMERICA!

NO NO than it would be a fairness doctrine.
They can't control talk radio like they are control the other media outlets.
Therefore while they have the majority they are going for it.

BTW: Factiod the liberals keep blowing over is that who owns the networks but they miss the point that who reports and the bias in their stories.

They are owned and influenced by MoveOn.org,
Soros, and the ACLU, so there will not be a fairness doctrine for the liberal biased Main Stream Media!!!

Stop answering your own questions. What's left for the rest of us to do now? As you well know, this doctrine has nothing to do with fairness & everything to do with squelching non liberal voices.

First, it's not true that tv news is liberal.
I'm liberal and I cannot get liberal news on network news.
I listen to Air America radio to liberal news.
That's a myth by the cons that wants to further brainwash the gullible into only listening to their side.
On talk radio, you need to count in the right wing preachers taking God's name in vain, as if their venom comes from God. Convservative talk radio outnumbers liberal talk by a
landslide.
If you really got "fairness" on tv network news, and someone were required to present the other side, the other side would be informative and you might think it's even more liberal, since it would have to expose some more facts that Bush and co. don't want covered on the eve.news.. TV news is more uninformative than it is lib, so therefore it's a con-game.

4 of the 5 major broadcasting companies are conservative. They own both TV and radio.

The four conservative companies are Clear Channel, Cumulus, CBS, and Fox.

The Fairness Doctrine was declared constitutional by the Supreme Court in 1969.

For some unknown reason, many people forget that the media are private enterprize and exempt from fairness, impartiality, unbiased reporting, and accuracy.
