She has never asked the rest of the family to keep it quiet.

Can we mention it whenever we like?

None of you seem to understand the question.

We're asking what to do: mention, or NOT mention?

Well if your proud of it then go ahead and mention it... I personally wouldn't cause it's not something to be proud of.

I think I'd ASK her what SHE thinks.

As for those who don't think her past employment could be a "normal" topic of conversation, I can imagine saying:

Don't make stupid remarks about strippers, buddy. That's what [Doris] used to do, and you know what SHE's like!

or
Their job doesn't always prove what kind of person somebody is, you know. My [sister-in-law] worked as a stripper for years, and I mean, she's not any different now than she was then!

or
Yeah, [Marcia] really is in great shape. She used to be a stripper, and she's kept up her diet and, well, DIFFERENT exercise . . .

Etc.

If she doesn't ask then don't talk about it. Chances are she's embarrased or prefers things to be understood and that it was something that she felt she had to do in her life. Did she do it for her child or was she helping family? It is a job where you can get income real fast without working long.

Why do you feel the need to mention it?
Are you trying to demean her or throw it in her face?

That kind of information does not come up unless you bring it up!

I would not mention it, not because there is any shame in it, but because it is in the past!

It doesn't sound like a topic of a normal conversation, but if she isn't ashamed then bringing up the topic most likely will not offend her. However, if you are attempting to hurt her or cause strife between she and others then it's best to keep your mouth closed.

You really don't have nothing else to talk about?
Is this the most sensational thing that you have heard lately?
Don't be obsessed with others life.
Before you throw a rock, think of yourself first - are you ideal, innocent....

No dont mention it to anyone!! Let her mention it and then you can put out your opinion and speak freely but intill she says something about it to anyone dont say anything. just because she didnt ask anyone to say anything doesnt mean she wants them to talk about it! she may just already trust you guys to keep the secret! Maybe she feels she shouldnt have to ask you to keep hush about it!

if she hasnt asked, maybe its one of those "dont ask, dont tell" things that people tend to do. whenever someone asks what she use to do with her life and shes not around you just be polite and say she use to be a dancer. that way you wont have to ask. hope that helps:)
