The different kind of shows you can get. Generally speaking, most of the cartoons here are for kids only. They are made for that only demographic and not need to expand the market. Anime in the other hand goes beyond that. You can have different kind of shows aimed at different kind of groups like teenagers, adults, woman, men, etc.

For me, I think the storylines are far superior to most of the American crap they have on tv these days. Although you have a point about the animation too, but you have to admit, some shows are better drawn than others.

Anime tends to have deeper stories and plotlines than "Cartoons." You can't compare, say, Chobits' musings on the meaning of life and love, to Ed, Edd, 'n' Eddy (or even The Simpsons or Ren and Stimpy -- to pick shows geared to an older demographic).

Anime isn't necessarily "better." But... (1) it is a bigger business, and therefore gets better artwork; and (2) it's aimed at a more grown-up audience in general. American cartoons tend to be either for kids, or else comedies. Anime has lots of drama, romance, etc., aimed at older viewers.

Anime in my opinion has better storylines and characters than regular American cartoons (which is one dimensional and flat in terms of storylines). Also, there are so many many different animes out there that will appeal to anyone (from young to old, straight to gay, romance to hard core action).

Well, if you live in America, you'll get bored with everything FROM America, so, anime is from a completely different place... It's automatically more interesting than anything American... If you aske me, that is!

i think its the detail and and the fact its a very dramatic way of drawing.. also the way it over sizes the characters eyes really over elaborates their expression.

did you ever watch spirited away? sooo ******* good. that guy like painted it frame to frame.. wtf
