She's awesome, and being half Lebanese gives her an advantage over the other Latinas cos she has that extra spice and charm they the other girls don't have. She's a strong woman and has no fears, she is very talented and admirable.

I'm a huge Shakira Fan, I went to her last concert. Some English Only speaking fans complained that most of the songs were in Spanish, but the majority of the fans there were Latinos. I got to within 2 feet from her since she decided to go out into the crowd. I almost lost my mind. I pretty much only like her Spanish songs, but I bought her English albums just to support her. There are some good songs in English but her Spanish songs are 10X better. I'm sorry for those that only speak English, because they are missing out on some great songs.

silvio rodriguez Shakira's songs since she was 21 in Colombia. I'm not a big fan from her, but have to recognize that her lirics in spanish are much better than in english.
It's a pity as some other answerer said, that only few pple know spanish here, bcoz most of you are losing the strengh
that the lirics in spanish have.
Is well known that everyone writes better in the mother language. That happens to Shakira.
Her song Ojos asi.......was the one that made her well known in America.....I mean in ALL America(south, central and north)

I love her stuff in Spanish and in English. My favorite Spanish songs of hers are Antologia, Octavo Dia, Tu, Moscas En La Casa, Sombra De Ti, No, Las De La Intuicion, and of course La Tortura.

And FYI... some people here are commenting about "Beautiful Liar," but the Spanish version does NOT have Shakira in it at all. Beyonce did that all by herself. The Spanglish one too. Ironically, the only one that has Shakira is the all-English one.

Yeah i listen to a lot of her spanish songs too, ojos asi = "eyes like yours", suerte = "whenever wherever" and many others too.

The beautiful liar spanish version with Beyonce is my favourite at the moment cause my friend and I did a duet hip hop/oriental version at our dance teacher's Hafla last month lol! Very nice and yes....somos hermanas tonight! we are sisters tonight!
