Well, as far as the wars that took place from World War I, on have all been direct causes of the mistakes in the terms that were made in France during surrender talks.
Ex: Ho Chi Minh (Leader of Vietnam from 1946 until his death in 1969)...He went to ask for the independence of French Indochina during the talks at Versailles. He was however ignored and then later, we had something called the Vietnam war.
(This treaty also fueled people like Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and other leaders and countries all over that were affected by WW1)
As far as the wars before that though, they were related in terms of the fact that we wanted more land so we could prove to the world that we were just as strong if not stronger. The driving force of some of those wars was also the belief in Manifest Destiny ( America would stretch from Atlantic to Pacific Ocean)

If you really mean "all American wars" then some have nothing in common as far as what started them and where they were fought. There is no common denominator for the
Civil War, the Spanish American War, or WW2. Same can be said for the Indian Wars and WW1 and WW2. You need do be more specific.
