I just bought this 80G hd with a pin protector on it. When I took off the protector, 8 of the pins were already bent. Any suggestions on how this might be fixed?

Spaceman, you're right in the assumption that I can't return the drive. Bought it off of a guy for $40. Thanks.

use a fine, flat-head screwdriver to straighten up the pins. Be very gentle and careful not to break them. I am assuming you can't or don't want to return the drive for a replacement.
