Is not possible for a dead body to be reanimated. Although it is possible for people to be mass infected by an unknown virus in this age. Back then there was only one mode of transportation and you could infect one person and that person another and so on... much easier to secure an area. Now it has become an exponential thing. You infect one, that one will infect 5 and one of them could be leaving the country....
Think back about that guy that had that rare strain of TB this year .

I loved Cillains nude scene in the beginning *drooling* (hehe)
but, to answer your question, I think so, it could happen, it was a virus afterall. Look at the whole ebola scare some years ago, are we really protected against a super virus? now it wouldn't happen exactly like the movie, it take a super deadly virus at least a couple days to even start to show symptoms.
The biggest mistake people make with this movie is thinking it's a zombie movie, no it is not. The people infected are very much still alive, they just have a virus called "rage" infecting them, which of course drives up their rage. It's through the blood that the virus is transmitted.

Well, that's a horror movie. its job is to scare you, so if you were scared ****less than i guess those writers did a pretty good job didnt they? Honestly, i think that once you're dead, you're dead. If we could come back as zombies i think we would know that by now. I luv horror movies myself, but when i get scared i always remind myself that they are just movies, nothing is gonna crawl out from under my bed, and nothing is going to bite me and make me a zombie, i watch those things happen to other people for entertainment!!

Nobody dead is going to stand back up and try to eat your face . . . well, not at the current state of medical science, anyway. But as far as being "mind-controlled" by an infection, sure, it happens all the time. We all have parasites that influence us metabolically, make us crave certain foods, or effect our moods. And if you think that's creepy, read up on a parasitic worm called leucochloridium, and be glad you're not a snail.

Why not. I mean in India you die and come back as a cow. Hmmm I wonder why Outback Steakhouse isn't in India.
