I'd think you can.

The general idea behind getting injunctions or punitive awards for slander or libel is to clear one's own good name, but if the interested party is deceased, it seems that the next of kin (especially one who has served as the executor of the estate) could recover damages.

You can sue but I don't think the suit would prevail. It is pretty difficult to prove damages to a person who is deceased.
