I rinse them under the faucet. Not sure how well it works, most pesticides seep inside the skin of the fruit and can not be washed off......

Well it depends.

I generally wash vegetables and don't wash fruits.

I usually buy fruits in bags, so people (except factory workers with stringent cleanliness rules) can't touch them.

I often eat tomatos cucumber and mushrooms raw without washing them too.

Yes, I heard that people put bleach on their vegetables that is a big mistake because it cause cancer. I suggest you get those vegetable and fruit cleaners that specialize in something like that.

yes. you should. because

1 there can be pesticide buildup that can make you sick
2 things can deficate (poo) on the fruit in the feild
3 the fruit couldve fallen on the ground during packing or shiping
4 the packing workers talk while they work. this means they spit while they work. which means the spit gets on the fruit

Yes, even the ones that say 'pre-washed and ready to eat'. I don't trust anyone to be as thorough at washing them as I am.

Never know who touched them, where they have been sitting, or what insecticides, etc have been sprayed on them.

If you don't wash them -- you might as well eat anything you pick up off the ground! Gross!!
