In parallelogram ABCD, BC = 8, DC = 12, and measure of angle D is 50 degrees. Find the area of the parallelogram to the nearest tenth.

height = 8sin50. so Area = 96 sin50 = 73.5 unit^2

The formula for the area of a parallelogram is the same as the formula for the area of a rectangle, except you tack on the sine of one of the angles at the end. So Area = 8*12*sin(50).

h = 8 sin 50 = 6.1284
area = CD ( h ) = 12 (6.1284 )

area = 73.54
