When you post an item on eBay, if it doesn't sell is there any fee charge at all?

Usually there is a listing fee that varies according to the starting (or reserve) price of the item.

If an item doesn't sell the first time it's listed, you may qualify for a free relist and the (second time) listing fee will be refunded on a successful sale.

There are a number of excellent calculators that can help you with figuring out the eBay and PayPal fees before you list an item. They can also be used to minimize your fees and discover your break even price.

Of course there is, they charge for EVERYTHING.

Also, as for the free relist, the first insertion fee is only credited if it sells the second time, and they do not give relist credit for any upgrades: gallery fees, extra pictures, etc..

You could try selling on your local craigslist or try some of the other free listing sites if you're unsure if your item will sell, or you just don't feel like paying fees.

In addition to ebay, I use blujay and ecrater

Good Luck!

Yes, there is a fee independend from selling or not selling, there are two fees. The Insertion Fee is the fee you pay when you put your item up for sale. That fee is calculated by a percentage of the value of your item. This fee you pay no matter if you have sold the item or not. The other fee is the so called FVF = final valuation fee, this fee is calculated by a percentage of what the item actually sold for.

If that helps...

Yes there is an insertion fee for the ad. If the item sell then there is also a FVF (final value fee) in addition to the insertion fee. The insertion fee will be disclosed right before you submit the ad.

Yes, the listing fees are still charged. However, if you relist they normally won't charge you again.

Go to the Ebay University on the website and they'll tell you what you need to know about it.
