I mean....there many entertaining wrestling promotions out there...TNA, Ring of Honor, All Japan, New Japan, AAA, Lucha Libre...so on and so forth. Why is it that so many WWE fans diss wrestling that they have either never seen or never given a chance? Is it that they are so used to the storylines and melodrama that they just pay attention to that instead of the wrestling...or is it something else?

I would like to add that I'm a WWE fan..in case any of you think I'm bashing it.

to the fifth answerer: Many of these promotions have been around just as long as WWE..if not longer. Save TNA of course.

Why are they ALL ripoffs?

They're concieted. They've never heard of the word, "variety". They think, omg! Wrestling needs pyros! They need half assed storylines! They need Super-Freaking-Stardom! Bs. Take wrestling's real roots, and 70% of the marks will definitely stop watching.

Kurt Angle sucks??? It's idiots like you that give WWE fans a bad name. Kurt is the most talented athlete in all of wrestling and now that he's won the IGWP championship he will go on to take over the world.

Anyway as far as the original question, I don't know why, I'm a huge WWE fan but I also like TNA although not quite as much, I think they just need a little more cash flow to put on a better product, I haven't seen much of the Japan shows but what I have seen has been very entertaining, I think the guy that spoke on human nature had it right, people are just closed minded in general once they make up their mind on something they think that they can't give credit to any competing idea.

I'm a big WWE fan but even more importantly I am a wrestling fan. Those who can't see beyond WWE just have a small problem with seeing outside the box. I love wrestling and can be found watching just about any wrestling program I can find all the way down to college wrestling. If you are only in it for the entertainment purposes I can understand how you would only like the WWE. But as a wrestling fan in general I like them all.

most people only think that the biggest is the best

as an example, or case in point, most people think the best heavy metal band is Metallica

they assume that if it is not in a building holding 70,000 fans, that it can't be a good wrestling promotional production

that's too bad, because they are only cheating themselves

they don't even watch a whole show, and say "TNA sucks" and "WWE rules" just because everyone else does it and its "safe" to say around here

Some people are just like that. Compare it to why people claim that one religion is the best when they've never had any experience with other religions. It's part of (general) human nature to want what you're doing or watching to be the very best. And yes, it's true that the average WWE mark knows squat about wrestling. I agree with the first answerer as well, well said.

They are under the mistaken assumption if you are a WWE fan you cannot even consider the talent and entertainment value of another promotion. I like the WWE the best but I recognize talent and entertainment wherever I see it. TNA and AAA are fun to watch.

I think people have been watching WWE so long, when they were WWF and they just haven't made an attempt to watch anything else. They are just used to the norm and lots of people don't like change. Then again, some people just think they suck because they don't have some of the stars that the WWE has, it really depends on the person. Different strokes for different folks
