might buy one with 90,000 miles... good/bad move? Need it to last a long time.

I own three Honda Civic's. Just turned out that they were very reliable. Do the 110,000 mile service shortly after you buy it; yes I am saying buy the 90,000 Civic if the owner has records, no accidents, and looks good. Follow the servicing, pay the insurance (it's a little higher than most sedans) and enjoy for at least another 100,000 miles.

As a longtime Honda owner, I have found that, with proper maintenance, they last well past 200K miles.

Make sure that the car has been maintained well to this point, obviously.

I have bought them with over 100K miles and kept them to 175K.
