Maybe you shouldn't give the dog so much food at once. I think if the cat is still getting enjoyment out of life, then let her live... don't be selfish and put her to sleep because you don't want to see her dead.

I would mix the can food with the dry food, but not too much can food just enough to coat the dry food. Also, add a little bit of water to it to make like a gravy. This is the only way my dog will eat dry food! I think you should let your cat live out its life unless its suffering or something.

If your dog is not used to eating canned food, then the sudden change in diet is a common cause of intestinal upset. Always make changes to the diet slowly over time. It was probably too rich.
Cat--my cat is 18 and is fine. Don't base euthanasia on age, but rather quality of life. If she is happy and still eating then she is OK. If she is sick and suffering, time to let her go.

Your dog:
He probably ate some call back food. Put him on dry food.
Your cat:
No, let her live out her life, how would you like it if somebody killed you before it was your time to go? It will be a little scary when she dies, but at least she died in peace.

Whether you should put her to sleep has to be your decision. Is she active , is her health fairly good ? I know it is quite a decision. bettyk
