I have been saving up change for a while, so now I wanna know how to exchange it for bills. If I use "Coin Star" will I get ripped off? Is there any other methods?

You can use coin star and they'll take about 8% of your change. Depending on how much change and time you have usually it's worth it. If you have time on your hands you can ask your bank for change rolls. They'll give you paper rollers to roll your own coins. When you're done you take them into the bank and they'll give you dollars for it and will not charge a fee. Go to your bank when cashing them in because they'll give you dollars right away but they'll want to make sure everything is legit. A bank you don't belong to might cut you a check and mail it to you.

Does your local shopkeeper have to pay the bank to get change for the till? It would save him bank fees to have your useful change, and you would get the bills for the exact amount you give him. Count it and put into coin rolls first.

Here, banks charge business customers to take in coin or to hand it out, but there is no charge for a private customer. If you have a bank account, ask there.

Your bank may give you some rolls if you have an account there or you can by the coin rollers at Walmart. You can take them to the bank if you have an account and they will sometimes cash them in for you as they have coin sorters. If you roll them yourself, you can sometimes spend them at stores but they will want your name and some other info like account # or ph # on them. They're not making any money where they are! They're also good for tolls...

if you have an account then yes for free BUT WHY DID YOU ROLL THEM UP? they have counters at these banks (like the coinstart things in grocery stores) and they dont charge you for that. Ive seen people walk into banks with buckets of coins and they give them cash straight up after feeding them in there machine. dont waste time rolling next time

Put the change into coin rolls and cash them in at your bank.

THE BANK HAS A COIN MACHINE.

TAKE IT TO A BANK THAT HAS A MACHINE AND THEY WILL DUMP IT IN A CONTAINER AND RUN IT THROUGH AND GIVE YOU BILLS.

US BANK HAS ONE. IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM THEY WILL NOT CHARGE YOU.

Roll it up and take it to your bank. Because your bank will not charge you for counting it.
