I don't know if we should be behind this guy according to the AP:
Nixon was disappointed with the selection of Thompson, whom he called "dumb as hell."
"Oh s---, that kid," Nixon said when told by his chief of staff, H.R. Haldeman, of Thompson's appointment on Feb. 22, 1973.
"Well, we're stuck with him," Haldeman said.

I think you should be more specific as to how he "aided" the Nixon administration since someone answered as though Thompson was Nixon's lawyer: he was a council on the committtee INVESTIGATING Watergate, and he asked the first question about the tapes, and now he claims to be a law-n-order guy because he went after Nixon.
But now we learn he was a mole for Nixon and warned Nixon's attorney ahead of time that the committee knew about the tapes. So it's like a prosecutor giving info to the defendent.

The whole story is so contorted that I couldn't make head or tails of it. All I can say is he's a lot smarter than what Nixon thought he was. I like him, but right now he's not my front runner to nominate, but the election is still a bit away.
Edit: for Born, actually it is relevant now since Hillary is running. When Bill Clinton was President, she tied her self to his Presidency. Even some of the scandals was tiedin with Hillary. Bribing Hisitic Jews with a pardon of some of their members to get her elected to Senator. White water as well involved her.

Who's Fred Thompson? And why should I care? To the old lady southern lights: it's not very good sarcasm if you have to tell people when you're being sarcastic.

I never thought much about him because he is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Some goals of the CFR are the North American Union and a one world government. the same goals of David Rockefella..

What I want to know is why do republican conservatives always throw up some desperate Clinton comparison to something that is going on right now in real time not 10 yrs ago. Is this how they really think about the issues? Do they want to elect crooks just because somebody else did it back then. What kind of thinking is that? Bill Clinton is not running for president people.
Oh yeah The liberal media is to blame too. LOL

So did a lot of other people. He is as good as the rest of them and as bad as the rest of them. None on either side I am too keen on.
But he at least is not a professional politician. That is saying something.

Never did think much of him - but the fact he leaked that the investigators knew about the oval office recordings doesn't surprise me in the least. He's a lobbyist for gawds sake - the lowest of the low.
