in our international relationship due to the change in US stance in the last several years? the tragedy of 9/11 has left lasting effects not just on the psyche of our nation, but also its general economic and political relationship with the international community. Please do not answer Iraq, I would like to stay away from that one.

I think the U.S has lost alot of credibility on other political issues such as Independence for Taiwan, North Korea and Iran issues, Human Rights abuses, environmental issues such as Kyoto, its lack of confidence in the United Nations and Bush's contempt for world opinion.

The U.S has done a great deal to fight terrorism - but it has neglected the great injustices that are being done in the name of fighting the war on terror. Countries in SE Asia are using the terrorist threat to crack down on civil liberties and pursue long lasting hatreds against perceived enemies.

Ordinary people throughout the world are turning against the U.S who is being perceived as providing money and support for governments that are cracking down on democracy.

The war on terror and the power of the mighty dollar are treading on the same rights that the U.S is fighting for.

The only other difference I am aware of is the fact that so many troops have been taken out of dangerous or threatening areas of the world in order to have a troop surge "your know where". If any other country wanted to attack us and do a lot of damage, this would be a good time. It would take weeks to get adequate troops any where else but that place you don't want to talk about.

Most countries do not trust US presidents to tell the truth about anything.
If they said it was raining you would have to go outside and see for yourself.
