We were just curious if it is possible to ovulate and get pregnant and ovulate again and get pregnant a second time? Then it would be twins but they would have different due dates or what? Any ideas????

What about if you have not found out you were pregnant. Like if you released an egg, it gets fertilized but has NOT implanted can you then release another egg? Can you release 2 eggs within days of each other or weeks due to getting off birth control? Thanks

I KNOW I am not pregnant. Just had a baby 8 weeks ago and had my tubes tied and one removed. I was just curious if it was possible or not.

Yeah, if the other embryo hasn't implanted and the cervix hasn't closed and been sealed with the mucus plug. That's how you get fraternal twins. Generally they are eggs from each ovary, which don't necessarily release at the same time, it could be a couple days apart. I'd be really surprised if it was weeks, though, because by the time you find out you're pregnant (2 weeks after conception) the mucus plug has already formed so no more semen can get in to fertilize any eggs, even if they were released. I don't thikn it has anything to do with coming off birth control, but it could happen. They would have the same due date, since your due date is determined from your last period and you would still have had your period on the same date. Their development would be similar, but even with identical twins sometimes one develops a little faster or becomes a little larger than the other.

It can be viable to ovulate greater than once in a cycle, but it's inside hours of each and every different and no longer days (that is how fraternal twins occur). It can be likely your physique has been gearing as much as ovulate, however hasn't quite made it which is why you are getting possibly positive checks. The being pregnant scan is correct at this point. Keep checking out and notice your health practitioner if this goes on for a number of extra weeks. You have got to discover what's improper.

You can't ovulate while pregnant. The ovary to release the last egg that fertilized creates an open follicle where the egg originated, and it produces hormones to keep from ovulating again. That's how birth control pills work-- they simulate that hormone, which keeps you from ovulating.

Yes.you can but the eggs would have to be released very closely together.this is how you can have non identical twins .Two eggs are released very closely together and become separately fertilised. Normally the first egg when fertilised starts to divide into a blastocyst which then inhibits the development of further egg follicles.Because they were fertilised very closely together they would develop in prrallel and have the same EDD

There have been some very, very rare cases on file of that happening--but the women to whom that happened had two different uteruses and two sets of ovaries. So, unless that's you, there is no statistical likelihood that it happened. That's more like a plot line on a soap--like someone is trying to convince someone else that a baby is theirs when it isn't.

its a very very rare thing but can happen. though two eggs have to be released at the same time. the kids wouldnt exactly be twins but at the same time they would be. this is how twins can have separate fathers its really rare but happens
