I have a ford Lehman diesel (120 hp) I have used the boat a few times this year - usually for longer trips (10 hours or so) and last time out noticed oil in the well - when I checked it was 5 quarts low. The boat is not really smoking so I don't think any is getting burned - is it just getting warm on the long rides and leaking from the oil pan? any help would be great

A common leak is the valve cover but if you dumped five quarts in ten hours or so not likely. It could be the oil pan gasket, dipstick tube, front or rear crankshaft seals, fuel pump drive, oil cooler-several possibilities. Look carefully around your engine. Unless it is filthy dirty about the only place it could leak to the outside and not be seen is the rear crankshaft seal inside the bell housing.
