Quite likely the metal backing plate behind the brake rotor got bent and is now rubbing. See it all the time. No harm no foul and easy to correct by bending the plate back away from the rotor. If you turn the wheels out you might be able to reach without having to take the wheels off.

the backing plate behind the rotor is most likely your culprit. pull off the tires and rotate the rotor and just bend the plate off it with your hand. the cream the other guy is talking about i throw in the trash anyway. be sure you did grease the bolts the caliper slides on too to keep it moving freely.

No, this is not normal. Recheck your work. I had this happen once because I accidentally bent the backing plate when I was repositioning the rotor to install the caliper.

Nope, also check the spring clips the pads rest on, I have seen them jump out of position once installed. Clean any rust off with a wire brush on everything to keep them seated.

new metallic pads will sometimes squeak , if everything is new and assembled correctly you should be OK
