One of them is super-domesticated and has lost all hunting instinct. The other is a weimaraner, which was originally bred as a hunting dog. She has killed two birds in the back yard (don't ask me how) and when she comes inside she sniffs around until she can find a trail to track down the cat. (Don't ask me how she does that, either - I would think the cat scent would be all over this house.)
