Yes, it's true. But here's what you do...

If they're small children, read to them.

As they get older, talk to them, and then LISTEN to what they say.

Find what they're interested in & help them work toward their interests. Don't push, don't smother. Help and guide them to what THEY want.
They'll love you for it.

yeah, unfortunately it is. we just have to do the best job we can as a parent and hope they will find the right path as they go. good luck.
