We had 700,000 new citizens take the oath last year alone. If we are so bad, why do so many people come here and pledge allegiance to the US?

No, we're better than most, but worse than Heaven. Americans are the most tolerant of people in the world, and the most giving. Look, those 700,000 immigrants memorized the Constitution, and stayed here long enough to get citizenship, but it doesn't make them American. Not if they wave their countries Flag, instead of Americas, or if they burn our flag. A lot of them do it. Especially the Hispanics, for Mexico, and also those same new citizens harbor their illegal family members who creep across the border. I live in CA, so I KNOW!

Last week approximately 314 people took the pledge to be US citizens. They were from different parts of the world and not just Mexico either.

absolutely not! the USA is by far the best country on Earth. We give 100 times as much humanitarian aid, money, medicine, and food as all of the countries that call us ''the great Satan'' put together. We have the finest military and strongest economy. If any country on this planet was in trouble, even the ones who hate us, who do you think they would call??? When was the last time the US sent suicide bombers or ''martyrs'' to blow up children? Here, you can practice any religion you want and anyone who interferes with that will go to prison (unless they are speaking against Christianity) its a fact, when you are the best, you are the most hated. GOD BLESS THIS GREAT COUNTRY!!!!!!!! LOVE IT, SPEAK THE LANGUAGE (which IS english!) OR GET THE **** OUT!!!!!!! thank you!

Best country in the world as your question so clearly points out.
The argument is not about it being good or bad, the argument is about who is going to have the control and power, we the people or the Socialists who try to denigrate this great country in the hopes of breaking down our culture so we will accept them as our great socialist leaders.
So the choice is simple really, do you want we the people controlling our future and freedom, or do you want a totalitarian government led by socialists telling us what we will do with our lives.

It's the idea of the American dream.
The US has a really bad reputation now, but it's still one of the most democratic countries in the world. People come here to start a new life, get a good job, and give their children a better education.
Not everyone hates the US...it's just that with the war and our government we're looking pretty bad right now...You've just got to look past that and realize that America is truly the land of freedom and infinite possibilities.
