I recently went to Texas and saw a lot of people wearing cowboy hats who have never even been on a horse, let alone do a cattle round up. Do they think the hats make them look cool (instead of idiotic?)

I'm not angry. I just think they look silly when worn with a suit and tie, or an expensive dress.

as you put it- Manny people in TX have Ranches and they do not wear a sing telling outsiders like you Wat they are- so before you give opinions that no body ask you for don't trash us

I am a cowboy, and once upon a time I asked that question, here's what we came up with, Stetson, Resistol, Wrangler, and a whole lot of other company's that make western wear support the Rodeo's, as well as numerous other things, they also donate millions to breast cancer research, (fact), so if only real cowboys and cowgirls wore western wear (cowboy hats) they'd lose a fortune of money as well as stop making a lot of things if it was only for us. So I say, if your gonna wear that stuff fine, but but buy the good stuff and at least look good doin it. Like that one fella said, baseball hat makers would go broke if only baseball players wore em. Ya'll have a nice day, and find somethin else to ***** about.

How do you know they've never ridden horses? It's a style in case you know nothing about todays popular clothing styles. Lot's of people ride horses. Many people just go hang in big cities or do shopping but still live on ranches here and in lots of southern cities. Anyway in case you havent notice yet, IT'S JUST A HAT!

how do you know they haven't been on a horse or cattle drive.
some cowboys actually have jobs that requires them to wear business suits. most of there suits are western tailored.

texas has always been known for cowboys, however i agree that its tradition has been taken too far by the , so called urban cowboy,live and let live i suppose
