Hi, im an International student from south america. I am doing the IB diploma (Nov 2008) and i have a problem if i want to apply to american univs...

I am a junior (UW GPA 3.8, projected 2000-2100 SAT).

The problem is that next year (senior) i havo to finish the IB and the national curriculum. Moreover, some friends and I will go backpacking to Europe right after we finish the IB so i wount have time to apply to university.... so.. here comes the question...

Can I apply as a Junior and tell universities that i will defer entry for one year if i am accepted(explaining the reason)?? (providing i finish my SAT's and TOEFL in my junior year)...

THANKS!! and sorry for the mistakes!!!, i have to go but i really wanted to ask this..

Sorry, but I don't know of any school which will allow you to apply as a Junior. You need to show that you are taking all of the required coursework and that you have completed most of it successfully already. If I were in an admissions office, and you told me that you didn't have time to apply, I would interpret that to mean that you weren't very serious about the program and would immediately eliminate you. This needs to take priority, certainly over backpacking!

somewhat considerable love. Many could have good SAT & AP rankings yet a school application is particularly lots the place you tell the college what makes you so specific. maximum cases if no longer continuously you would be giving a options of essays or one essay to place in writing, looking on what type of essay it somewhat is brag approximately what it references to. although do no longer in basic terms checklist all your accomplishments and forget to tell them approximately you. particularly lots, college purposes are needed and could be taken very heavily
