I'm 9 weeks pregnant (tomorrow) and I woke up this morning and have been bleeding. It was heavy for about 5 minutes, and the rest of the time its been very light. I am a little achy in my abdomen, but not crampy. I spoke with the on call OB/GYN from the office where I'm a patient, and she told me to rest (which I have been doing all day... in fact, when I'm lying down, the bleeding is very minimal, but when I go to the bathroom, I have a little blood)
Has anyone had an experience like this that has turned out OK? This is my first pregnancy, and I'm terrified of miscarriage! Any advice, experiences would be appreciated!

You know I've heard sometimes women even have their period sometimes during the first months of pregnancy. I have no personal experience, but I am sure that you can make it. Otherwise your doctor wouldn't tell you to rest, he would say that you will have a miscarriage. So, he said to rest because he knows of many cases that had the same problem and everything turned out OK, right? Don't stress, do rest, and I guess perhaps you have to call your doctor often and let him know of what is going on. Perhaps you should also go to the hospital for tests and treatment, because there may be a circumstance in which you may need help, like ectopic pregnancy etc. I sure hope this is not the case though, and I wish you that everything turns out well.

Bleeding in pregnancy can be nothing at all or a sign of problems.

There are many benign reasons for bleeding in early pregnancy: implantation bleeding, old blood leaving uterus (although this is usually brown), some women's body's just take time to adjust to being pregnant and in the meantime can bleed, intercourse (your cervix is filled with blood vessels and this point and very likely to bleed if bumped), an internal exam.

My sister-in-law bled throughout her pregnancy and had a healthy baby. I bled in two pregnancies and had miscarriages at 10 and 6 weeks.

If you are still nervous, ease your mind by going to the doctor or emergency room. They can do an ultrasound to check on your baby. But remember, an internal exam can cause bleeding (this is harmless bleeding but may not ease your anxiety). If you start to bleed as much as a period, get to the hospital right away.

I wish you a lot of luck.

I had a m/c back in March at 11wks. I went in beacause of some brown spotting. I'm currently at 9 wks and at about 4 wks I had some bleeding/spotting that didn't last that long. One day it was about afew mins. and the next longer about 1-2 hrs. Spotting linger just brown stuff an extra day or 2. This baby is fine. I would go to the ER just to make sure. What's normal for some people migth not be normal for you! Good luck!

I had a miscarriage, after which a child no longer lengthy after, then a different miscarriage. Considering I used to be instructed I'd in no way get pregnant, I viewed that one a blessing. Two years later I pass pregnant once more, and we had fun and inspiration we would in no way get pregnant once more. Then #three used to be born 18 months after #two...WOW! Then #four used to be 15 months after #three, then 18 months later #five....we began pondering it used to be a few variety of cosmic shaggy dog story! #6 used to be born 2 years after #five, and quantity seven (we name her seven of 7) used to be born 2 years after #6. My SIL additionally confronted a few miscarriages, 4 or 5 I suppose, she stopped telling us after a even as. She bought pregnant approximately ten years in the past regardless that, after which popped out FIVE in ten years. So we are each fairly joyful with our little advantages. I'm sorry to your loss, I have no idea what else to inform you besides to hold your hopes up. I in no way inspiration I'd be so blessed, and I bear in mind the ones days of dread, each and every month of praying. We had been whole nuts throughout our pregnancies, specially for the reason that all of our miscarriages had been after 12 weeks...a long way into the trimester of 'protection'.

with my son i bled up until about the middle half of my pregnancy. the problem was that my placenta had seperated and was causing me to bleed instead of supplying it to my baby. the doctor ordered me to rest for a couple weeks and took me out of work. i was just as terrified as you are and thought i was going to miscarry but thankfully by following my doctors orders and trying not to stress out over it i now have a beautiful healthy 3 month old
